Caramel Cake

Super simple cake, very easy to bake.


Cake batter:

  • 1 dl butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups of brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4.5 dl wheat flour
  • 1.7 dl milk
  • 4.5 dl caramel sauce, separated



  • 230 gram cream cheese
  • 1 dl butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 9 cups icing sugar


The cake:
1. Pre-heat oven to 175ºC
2. Add butter and brown sugar in a bowl and mix it with an electric beater
3. Add eggs and mix it together
4. Add vanilla, salt and baking powder and mix it with the beater
5. Add flour and milk in small steps until the batter is fluffy and smooth
6. Pour the batter into a greased form and bake for 25-30 minutes
7. Pour 2 cups of the caramel sauce over the cake and let it cool off

The frosting:
1. Mix the butter and cream cheese together gently with the beater
2. Add vanilla and sugar to the mix gently
3. Spread the frosting on the cake when it has cooled off
4. Pour the rest of the caramel sauce on top of it
